Temperature fluctuations are the primary environmental challenges faced by outdoor lighting equipment, from the cold of -30°C in the northern winter to the high temperature exposure in the southern summer, to the local heat generated by the long-term operation of high-power LED lamps, all of which put forward strict requirements for the material stability of lamp base covers.
The cast aluminum lamp base cover is made of A356 aluminum alloy (ASTM B179 compliant) as the core raw material, which is gravity cast to form a uniform and dense metallographic structure, which can maintain stable performance in the temperature range of -30°C to 150°C - there will be no cracking due to material brittleness in low temperature environments, and there will be no deformation or structural strength degradation in high temperature environments.
For industrial LED lamps or municipal high mast lamps with a power of more than 100W, long-term operation will increase the internal temperature of the lamp holder to 80°C-120°C, and the wide-range temperature resistance of the cast aluminum lamp base cover can effectively adapt to this working condition, avoiding seal failure or structural damage caused by thermal expansion and contraction of the material, and ensuring the stable operation of the lamp in different climate regions throughout the year.
Moisture, salt, industrial dust, and other substances in the outdoor environment can easily cause corrosion to metal components, shortening the service life of lighting equipment. Through the dual optimization of material characteristics and surface treatment process, the cast aluminum lamp seat cover has built a strong anti-corrosion system.
The cast aluminum lamp seat cover strictly follows the ASTM B117 salt spray test standard and can withstand more than 1000 hours of neutral salt spray testing, this test simulates corrosion conditions in a temperate humid environment, after which the surface of the lamp seat cover is not significantly corroded, the coating does not peel off, and the structural integrity and sealing performance remain intact.
For special scenarios such as coastal areas and high-humidity industrial zones, the special cast aluminum lamp base cover is additionally treated with a marine-grade anti-corrosion coating, with a coating thickness of 60μm-80μm, which can pass the rigorous salt spray test for 168 hours, which can effectively resist the erosion of seawater salt and industrial acid and alkali gas, avoid short circuits in the internal circuit of the lamp holder due to corrosion, and significantly extend the operation and maintenance cycle of the lamp in a highly corrosive environment.

The circuits, terminals, and other components inside the lamp holder are extremely sensitive to dust and moisture, and the waterproof lamp base cover has achieved IP65 protection level (in line with GB/T 4208-2017 standard, equivalent to the international standard IEC 60529) through precise structural design and sealing process. Among them, "IP6" stands for dustproof level 6, which means that the lamp base cover can completely prevent the intrusion of external dust and avoid poor circuit contact caused by dust accumulation. "IP5" stands for a waterproof rating of 5, which can withstand jet-like water flows in any direction (such as heavy rain, spray cleaning, etc.), and moisture cannot penetrate the inside of the lamp holder even in heavy rainfall weather.
This high-protection design is especially suitable for municipal street lights, park landscape lights, factory floor lighting and other scenarios, in sand and dust weather, dust cannot enter the lamp holder to affect the elements; In the rainy season or during cleaning and maintenance, the impact of water flow will not cause damage to the internal structure, which fundamentally reduces the probability of failure caused by dust and water intrusion of the lamp.
During installation, operation and maintenance, or use of outdoor lighting equipment may face physical impact risks such as accidental collisions and falling objects from high altitudes. Relying on the material advantages of the gravity casting process, the cast aluminum lamp base cover has an impact resistance of IK08 grade (in line with GB/T 2423.55-2019 standard), and can withstand the impact of a 1.75kg heavy hammer falling from a height of 200mm, with no cracks and no structural deformation after impact, and the sealing performance is not affected.
Compared with the traditional stamped steel lamp seat cover, the impact resistance of the cast aluminum lamp seat cover is improved by about 3 times, due to the limitation of the processing process, the stamped steel material is prone to stress concentration points inside, and it is easy to dent or break after impact; The uniform structure of cast aluminum and the complete structure formed by gravity casting can effectively disperse impact energy, maintain structural integrity even under the action of large external forces, and greatly reduce the maintenance cost and replacement frequency of outdoor lamps caused by physical impact.
